Fender Abigail Ybarra Masterwound Stratocaster
EXTREMELY RARE set of 2001 Fender Custom Shop Abigail Ybarra Handwound and Signed Pickups offered to Fender Staff Members as final production PROTOTYPES used by Fender Custom Shop to approve the Limited Edition production. Abigail Ybarra (Abby) was the original Fender Pickup Master Winder. She made pickups for Musicians like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and just about anyone who played a Custom Shop Fender guitar. She has now retired in May 2013. More about Ms. Abigail Ybarra below. This is a rare Limited Edition set offered to Fender Staff in 20011. Neck Pickup (dated 04/26/2001) – Output Reading: 6.4k
2. Middle Pickup (dated 04/24/2001) – Output Reading: 6.1k
3. Bridge Pickup (dated 04/23/2001) – Output Reading: 6.1k
What makes this set so rare are the following reasons:
1. Next to Leo Fender himself, Abigail Ybarra is quite possibly one of the most historical Fender employees in the history of the Fender brand.
2. Ms. Ybarra officially retired from Fender in May of 2013. Therefore, she has not hand wound (or created) a single set of Fender Custom Shop pickups since that day…nor will she ever again.
3. These pickups are HAND SIGNED and DATED by Ms. Ybarra herself (please see photos). DON’T be fooled by fakes; the only TRUE hand wound Abigail pickups are HAND SIGNED and dated by her; they are signed “Abby” and with ink pen. You can see these sets are, indeed, authentic (please see photos).
If you If you are unfamiliar with Ms. Abigail Ybarra, here is the following Fender description about the woman who helped become the “sound” of Fender: Abigail Ybarra came to Fender in 1956 and in 1958 began hand-winding and hand-building guitar pickups for the fledgling Southern California musical instrument company (pickups convert string vibrations into electric signals, creating the “voice” of an electric guitar). Ybarra’s hand-wound pickups have been included in Fender’s most popular instruments from the late-’50s to today, and were most likely found on instruments played by legends such as Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Holly, Stevie Ray Vaughan and countless others. Her pickups have become highly desirable and sought after by artists and collectors alike.
“Abby is one of the many individuals, like George Fullerton, Freddie Tavares and Forrest White, who have set our course as a company and leader in our industry,” said Mike Eldred, Fender Custom Shop Marketing Director. “She has literally ‘set the tone’ for Fender.”
This is an incredible opportunity to own a TRULY unique and important piece of Fender history.

Fender Abigail Ybarra Masterwound 2010
2010 gjorde Abby en ny batch signerade mickar. Nu som ’69 set. Med svagare output. Många stratologer tycker ’69 mickarna är de bästa.

Lundgren 50's Formvar
A classic stratsound -55 to -65.Think Stevie Ray or Shadows.
Full bodied, yet crisp sound with a pleasent treble.
This is our most popular Stratmodel. Think Stevie Ray or Shadows. This pickup is wound with a doubleinsulated magnetwire. When we started in the beginning of the 90 s this stratpickup were one of the first models in our line. The insulation is called Formvar.
This is the same wire that a big company used in the golden years 1954-1964. There is no better vintagepickup than this one. We punch-press the flatwork with our own tooling inhouse. This gives the correct surface on the sides as well. Overkill? We don’t think so.
The 3 pos.soundsample shows a 6 K Ohm version in all positions. The 5 position soundsample shows a calibrated set.
In our calibrated set the neck and middlepickup is 6 K Ohm and the bridgepickup is ca 6,6 K Ohm. Avalible in calibrated sets.
The bridge pickup is wound with more turns of copperwire to compensate for less stringmovement in the bridge position. This will make the bridge pickup sound fuller.

Fender Custom Shop Texas Special Pickup Set
The pickup that redefined hot Texas blues tone. Custom Shop Texas Special Stratocaster pickups are over-wound for increased output, and are made with alnico 5 magnets and enamel-coated magnet wire for great midrange bite with crystalline highs and tight bass.

Fender ´57 / '62 Strata Set
Fender Pure Vintage ’57/’62 Strat® single-coil pickups are reverse-engineered from a 1963 Stratocaster guitar. These pickups deliver vintage-Strat sound, feel and vibe, with glistening highs and warm lows. From vintage bobbin construction to genuine original-era cloth wiring, all Fender Pure Vintage pickups are wound to precise specifications for authentic, traditional Fender tone and performance.
I’m very satisfied with this set. As you can see, I had to open up my Paisley Strat to analyze them.
My experience and the measured results say these sit right between CS 69’s and Fat 50’s. Perfectly Stratty, Nile Rogers tones are to be had with this set.
This is a homogeneous set of three pickups, no reverse wired/reverse polarity middle, true to vintage spec.

Barcus Berry piezo pickup 1355
